From the Editor’s Desk
Welcome on the English web page of “Przegląd ITS” (“ITS Review”) monthly magazine!
This is the only magazine on the Polish market, devoted exclusively to the Intelligent Transportation Systems. It has been established last year by a handful of ITS specialists and enthusiasts, gathered around the OpenSky Systems and Services Sp. z o.o. (Ltd.) consulting company, who is the publisher.
At the same time we have set up the www.przeglad-its.pl web page, and this is how the news about our new venture has spread outside of Poland. We have started receiving requests for paper copies of “Przegląd ITS”, and then complains that although the magazine looks nice, nobody (maybe except Polish immigrants) can understand the articles or even find out what we are writing about. That’s how the English page has been born. Please keep in mind that, as all newborns, it is very small and it has limited capabilities. But it will definitely grow and get smarter with time.
“Przegląd ITS” (“ITS Review”) is targeting not only the ITS specialists in Poland, but also a large group of decision makers in the road infrastructure and transportation areas, especially government and local authorities – our goal is to promote ITS technology in order to speed up its implementation in our country. We are also reaching a number of private companies in the ITS sector, that are playing important role on the Polish ITS market.
We believe that writing sophisticated articles in a manner understandable to only a few specialists is a disservice to the general reader – therefore our ambition is to present even most difficult subjects in a popular form that most of the readers would find interesting.
We are promoting ITS by showing its advantages, as: increasing the road throughput and decreasing travel time, improving road security, decreasing negative environmental impact, optimizing traffic management and improving public transportation conditions. Speaking about promotion – you will find in our magazine advertisements of local and international companies. Advertising in “Przegląd ITS” (“ITS Review”) can help your company to get recognized on the Polish market.
